Digital Road Infrastructure for C-ITS
Creation of a high accurate and up-to-date digital model of the road, including road markings, usable lanes, static and dynamic traffic signs as well as availability of energy supply stations (mainly electric) in order to enable future (C-) ITS services, to link IoT devices used for roadworks to road segments, and to provide lane specific information (hard shoulder open/closed) or, through connected traffic and infrastructure, to manage the electric energy demand of vehicles and supply from the infrastructure.
This activity includes a digitalisation program to generate a high accurate and machine-readable image of the road network. Depending on local conditions and requirements, the digitalisation may also include road inspections using sensors (camera/LiDar) and/or introduce GNSS/RTK/HAS sensors on road marking devices in the general process of road construction as well as C-ITS messages transmitted by vehicles (Probe Vehicles Data).
KPIs: One Digital model of the extended TEN-T motorway network in Austria
