VERKKO IS THE EUROPEAN INITIATIVE FOR EFFICIENT AND SUSTAINABLE DIGITAL TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
VERKKO brings together 40 partners from 12 European countries to build a unique network of ITS and Cooperative-ITS (C-ITS) implementations and digital infrastructure. The overall objective is to modernise and harmonise transport infrastructure on the Core, Extended Core, Comprehensive TEN-T network and Urban Nodes.
VERKKO aims to enhance the performance of transport corridors by expanding the collection, provision, and sharing of multimodal data, along with implementing ITS services. These services will ensure smooth interoperability, continuity, and cost-efficiency in traffic management across integrated corridors.
Additionally, measures and services targeting multimodal corridor performance improvement will mitigate losses and negative impacts, aiding intermodal planning and mode selection.
