THE NEXT GENERATION OF MOBILE INTELLIGENT LED-SIGNS, EQUIPPED WITH C-ITS MODULES TO DEPLOY ROADSIDE COMMUNICATION
The technology in the new IMIS modules, including C-ITS, does two significant things. First, it is used to record on-site information and data for transmission to the ASFINAG backend systems for further evaluation and aggregation with other data sources. The information is processed and transmitted to the road users directly via the dynamic LED panels.
The IMIS is supplemented by stand-alone boxes which, in combination with the trailer, are used to determine current travel times for a specific route segment. Via a webbased GUI, a human operator can remotely select predefined or customised graphics and text to be displayed on the IMIS LED panel.
The GUI further provides the possibility to retrieve status and statistics and includes a reservation system.
A new generation of IMIS objects is set to be tested in a traffic-jam warning use-case as part of the road works
traffic management system. Twelve new IMIS objects are available and integrated into the web-based GUI.
