Traffic Centre upgrade for C-ITS (TIC Interactive)

The Bavarian Traffic Information Centre VIZ (TIC) operates multiple technical platforms with the focus on the collection and quality assurance of traffic relevant data to provide them to the public via the NAP and the website www.bayerninfo.de. Data are taken up from the NAP by major service providers and thus also (partially) used in navigation services. With the advent of C-ITS, the VIZ needs to be upgraded into a cooperative centre with connections to RSUs and to existing legacy systems. Those systems provide information relevant to C-ITS such as type and layout of roadworks, and it can offer new functionalities to their user base by the information provided by vehicles. For this purpose, the TIC Bavaria will be transformed into a cooperative centre and existing legacy systems will be integrated into the system architecture.

The legacy systems involved include the TIC Bavaria traffic information component for traffic data and safety warnings, the ArbIS for roadworks information, and the traffic light control and management centre. Other systems like the Baysis map system, as well as additional components, will be assessed for inclusion.

This Task will also be devoted to connecting the TIC Interactive in Bavaria to other C-ITS Centres and NAPs in neighbouring regions and countries (e.g., in Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland, and in other German regions) to ensure seamless service delivery across European borders and between national and international entities.

KPIs: At least 3 subcomponents integrated into cooperative centre solution. Localisation: Whole network

Type of implementation: A partial upgrade of existing systems, an addition to existing systems, a replacement of existing implementations with new systems.
