C-ITS works deployment

This Task will be dedicated to the upgrade of existing RSUs, the deployment of new RSUs, as well as the development, implementation and subsequent refinement of new business processes to establish an effective and sustainable C-ITS ecosystem in Ireland. Services will be implemented in line with the C-Roads Platform specifications that provide both harmonisation and interoperability of C-ITS services across Europe. This harmonisation and interoperability are needed to realise high-quality C-ITS and selected ITS services, which then in turn will result in improving road safety, reducing congestion and reducing noise and environmental emissions.

KPIs:

• C-ITS messages exchanged with at least one OEM
• Functionality implemented in line with C-Roads Platform guidelines and tested to enable exchange of C-ITS messages with other C-ITS actors
• Development and deployment of 10 mobile RSUs
• Upgrading the 74 existing RSUs providing 60km of ITS-G5 operational coverage
• Implementation and validation of at least 4 additional use cases (i.e. Mobile Road Works Warning, Incident support, recovery vehicle in intervention, Accident Zone, Obstacle in road)

Type of implementation: Upgrade of existing systems (upgrading the 74 existing RSUs) and addition to existing systems.
