Development and deployment of the C-ITS service on Parking Availability on the Brenner Motorway

This Task will focus on deploying the Parking Availability (PA) service to provide real-time parking information for all vehicle types, covering location, availability, amenities, rates, and characteristics of parking spaces. The goal is to enhance driver convenience and improve safety by reducing time spent searching for parking. Real-time updates would optimise space utilisation and reduce congestion, especially for truck drivers, who need to plan rest stops. It would prevent illegal parking, reduce unnecessary traffic movements, and benefit both HGV and light vehicle drivers. Four sites are identified: the Rovereto Sud truck parking area (with a high-definition surveillance system), Sadobre truck park area (to be equipped with CCTV surveillance system outside the scope of VERKKO), and the Paganella Est and Paganella Ovest rest areas. The required equipment includes 20 Roadside Units, 50 CCTVs, a dedicated workstation/server, and staff costs for development and deployment.

KPIs: 20 RSUs; 50 CCTVs; 1 workstation, 1 server.
