Integrated traffic management along the Brenner corridor

Within this Task, ASFINAG will collaborate closely with neighbouring regions, Italy (South Tyrol) and Germany (Bavaria), to enhance the coordination along the critical Brenner corridor, a key transit route for trucks and tourists in Central Europe. The cooperation aims to ensure that motorway operators have access to comprehensive corridor-wide information and data.

In particular, a shared intervention protocol will be established to standardize communication levels and data exchange processes for various scenarios. Annual workshops will facilitate knowledge sharing and foster collaboration among infrastructure operators. Additionally, operators’ apps and websites will integrate cross-border information, enhancing user experience. This Task will serve also to activate a cross-border automated traffic management plan, leveraging tools like the automated Traffic Management Plans (TMP , developed in the frame of the CEF project CROCODILE 3) to manage cross-border events effectively.

KPIs: At least one ASFINAG application upgraded with information from neighbouring regions (Italy (South Tyrol), Germany (Bavaria)).
