A2X Data Exchange

This Task will be devoted to expanding A2X to connect with the Mobility Data Space, transitioning and replacing various external interfaces as part of the AOS rollout, and updating plugins to address changes in data formats, protocols, or provider requirements.

A2X communication and traffic event management implement all input and output interfaces of the AutobahnOS and version all types of traffic reports. A2X communication works with a stack of format, data, and protocol plugins, so data is processed in these three steps and imported into or exported from AOS. This tripartite structure allows flexible responses to different data formats, transport protocols, and data contents, ensuring maximum reusability of the plugins and thus an economical realisation of interfaces at the boundaries of AOS.

In traffic event management, all data is managed, versioned, and discarded after the expiration date in the report format. Typical data in the report format includes short-term construction sites, long-term construction sites, closures, and traffic reports. This information is also sourced from various sources, allowing it to be merged, reconciled, and enriched. Thus, the complete set of reports is available in the AOS system as a basis for further traffic-related decisions.

The A2X communication system includes a user interface that visualizes data sources and sinks, their statuses, and timestamps of the last successful transfers. It also allows downloading the latest dataset for manual quality checks. Currently, A2X supports export interfaces to the federal Mobilithek, handling data like MQ, construction sites, and strategic routes, aligning with the ITS Directive (EU) 2023/2661 and the national Mobility Data Act.

KPIs: A2X is part of the AOS operating system which will be the basis for the integration of other software currently used at Autobahn GmbH.

Type of implementation: Deployment of new systems.
