Autobahn Mobile App

This Task aims to develop a mobile app to enhance journey planning and information flow while driving along the TENT core corridors. This app will provide real-time information on traffic conditions, construction sites, parking availability, and other relevant data for highways. By offering a comprehensive overview of the current road situation, the app will empower citizens to make informed travel decisions, improving efficiency and safety. The app will support the EU’s goal of creating “efficient, interconnected, and multimodal networks and infrastructure” by integrating various data sources to present a unified, up-to-date picture of the road network. This will facilitate smoother travel, reduce congestion, and enhance the user experience. Additionally, the app will strengthen and connect the TEN-T core corridors by providing critical information to help users avoid delays and optimise travel plans. This will improve individual travel experiences and contribute to a more interconnected transportation network across Europe. The app will also address truck parking availability, a significant concern for long-distance drivers.

Through real-time updates, drivers will be informed about hazards during their journey, enhancing safety. Additionally, there will be a real-time roadside assistance feature, providing immediate help in case of breakdowns.
