Strategic Corridor Management Phase II
In this Task, Autobahn GmbH will develop the German motorways into a completely digital, networked and automated traffic system, so that use of the road infrastructure can be optimised, and the road users can reach their destination safely and in a more environmentally friendly manner.
All of this started with the Corridor Management Germany initiative WEST (Dortmund, Cologne and Frankfurt) and SOUTH (Munich, Nurnberg, Stuttgart and Frankfurt) that is already fostered in the CEF project MERIDIAN. This Phase II will focus on the roll-out of the software in all German corridors and all traffic control centres of Autobahn GmbH. In addition, an update of the software will be done in Phase II because of further requirements for traffic control centres.
Also, the cross-corridor cooperation with VERKKO countries is part of Phase II. In this Task, the focus will be on crossborder exchange of Traffic Management Plans (TMP) with DK, NL, BE, IT and AT. The digital traffic management and cross-border TMPs between Germany and its neighbouring member states and within the seven strategic corridors in Germany are crucial for the transition to a digitalised road operator.
KPIs: Cross-border exchange of TMP with DK, NL, BE, IT and AT with at least 75% coverage.
Type of implementation: Addition to existing systems.
