Multimodal travel information platform by TIC Berlin
This task will be dedicated to transform the TIC into a multimodal mobility platform, connected to the Mobilithek, Germany's National Access Point for mobility data. The aim is to enhance traffic flow, safety, and eco-friendly mobility.
To achieve this aim the TIC has to be provided with min. Of 3 additional data /software modules:
1. System to display available and occupied EV charging stations. The system will also link the occupancy status of the charging station with the associated parking sensor, allowing illegal parking/charging to be identified.
2. Software to streamline construction site tracking and improve public access to this information.
3. System to improve traffic flow. For this reason, the probability of congestion for each road segment will be determined. It will also be tested whether, on this basis, it is possible to predict future congestion probabilities at a specific location and time.
All of these measures are being made available for the Berlin-Brandenburg metropolitan area so they will strengthen the cooperation with Brandenburg for better mobility data exchange, improving the east-west TEN-T connection.
KPIs: New platform to deliver at least 3 mobility information to the users of the main road network of Berlin and the interconnected area in Brandenburg.
Type of implementation: Replacement of past implementations.
