MOBIDROM Mobility Data Platform

The “Mobidrom Datenplattform” (MD) will be the central mobility data hub in North-Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). The minimum viable product, or MVP, of the MD has been set to productive use early in 2025 (prior to VERKKO). This Task will implement new functionalities and services over the coming years. Such implementation includes up to 3 new APIs and up to 20 new data sources.

This Task will further connect the MD to the Mobilithek, the German national access point (NAP) for mobility data. In contrast to “simple” Open Data portals or catalogues, this Task will update the MD to comprise features that will allow advanced applications like quality control, quality assurance as well as data improvement, enrichment and refinement.

The exact definition of such features will be developed during the implementation due to the nature of software development being a fluid procedure.

As NRW is part of two TEN-T corridors (the ”North Sea – Baltic corridor” and the "Rhine - Alpine corridor") the data included in the MD will improve routing of individual mobility as well as HGV traffic facilitating a more sustainable and convenient mobility.

KPIs: Implementation of up to 3 new APIs. Addition of up to 20 new data sources. Implementation of at least one new core function (e.g., management of DTRs).

Type of implementation: Addition to existing systems (new APIs, new data sources) and completely new implementation (e.g., functionality for management of DTRs).
