AI and ITS: Strengthening Cybersecurity in Logistics for NIS2 Compliance

In logistics, cybersecurity threats loom large, posing significant challenges to the industry’s smooth operation. Understanding these threats is crucial to fortifying defences and safeguarding against potential breaches of operational activities and supply chain as required by Directive (EU) 2022/2555 (NIS2). NIS2 requires also the management of risk, incidents, business continuity, supply chain security, business continuity and other requirements were, we delve into some specific cybersecurity challenges faced by the logistics sector. Using AI for cybersecurity grants the active firewalls, SOC and all peoples involved the real time views, analysis and correlation of cyber events including ransomware, data breach, supply chain disruption, mitre, attack, vulnerability and cyberthreat analysis across multiple sources and sites, turning it into clear and actionable insights that security professionals use for further investigation, automated incident response, and reporting improving security of logistic and transportation networks. The integration of Cybersecurity with ITS and Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents a strategic opportunity for logistic users aimed at enhancing security, efficiency, sustainability, and safety in logistics operations in compliance with the NIS2.

This Task is dedicated to the development and operational deployment of an innovative solution that harnesses the power of AI to optimise the response to cyber-attack creating an integrated, distributed and secure logistics system.
