CHARM
CHARM is a national program (https://www.rijkswaterstaat.nl/zakelijk/verkeersmanagement/wegverkeer/charm) integrating enhanced digital traffic management within the Rijkswaterstaat Traffic management control centres (five in total). Prior to VERKKO, this system has been fully deployed in the first TMC located in Helmond. This Task is dedicated to the roll out of the system in the remaining four TMCs in Leiden (Rhine), Utrecht, Wolfheze and Velsen en Rhoon. When the deployment of this system will be completed at national level on all five TMCs, the existing old systems will be decommissioned (Decommissioning not included in VERKKO), thus enabling further digitalisation of traffic management. The system integrates existing camera's, DRIPs, dosage lights and emergency alerts with the dispatch of traffic inspectors and the setting of pre-configured plans (Implementation of infrastructure not included in VERKKO).
KPIs: Nationwide completion of the CHARM program with the system implementation in 4 TMCs.
Type of implementation: Replacement of ca. 20 past applications with a completely new system.
